My parents machine had successfully upgraded from firefox 2.0.8 and thunderbird 2.0.9 using the auto update tool provided. Latest firefox update worked, the latest thunderbird update worked, but keeps prompting to install the downloaded update every time thunderbird starts, even though the update has successfully been installed.

I read about this issue a long time ago, but my google-fu is lacking, wondered if anyone knows how to get rid of this message ?

    Cheers Nick

    Hello,
Are they running some sort of sandboxing program that prevents Thunderbird from really updating. I've noticed this loop twice with DefenseWall ... you must disable the protection before you can really update...

They both have updated to latest version, no sandboxing or access control.
