Eset never updated the Thunderbird extension when it was disabled by Thunderbird 5.
Now we have Thunderbird 6, and still no update.

This is a matter of basic support that is not being met.
When can we expect to have an update that protects our eMails?

I am probably just being dense, but I do not see any useful information at that link. What I do see is a very incoherent jumble of responses, but no solution.

And I thought this was part of the Mozillazine Forums. Apparently not.

Why do you ask a solution when there is no problem? Strange.
What is the use of the toolbar in Thunderbird NOD32? Nothing or very little.

The mails (POP3) are checked by NOD32 regardless of the mailer.

The mails downloaded with Thunderbird 6 are checked by NOD32. This is the most important.

If you find that there really is a significant problem, please describe it.

It seems NOD32 will see and report virus, but in my case will not do anything else. Will not move to quarantine, a specified folder nor delete. I tested with http://www.mtgsy.net/dns/virustest.php

Only POP3? How about IMAP through Google Mail??

    Is that supported by NOD32 4.2 ? Or 5.0 ??

    Thanks.

Will SSL scanning work if the e-mail application is not integrated? I tested with Thunderbird 6.0 (not currently integrated so far as I can tell) and I can't see any evidence that SSL encrypted e-mail is being scanned. Received mail doesn't have the tag showing it was scanned. Regular POP mail shows the tag. I did the test with SSL scanning enabled (i.e. with "always scan SSL protocol" checked). Using NOD32 ver 4.2.71.2.
