Finally we are getting that "deny" option back. Hoping to see some reviews about the resource usage. I didn't like the CPU usage with the previous version. :)

Would you be so kind to provide more information? What did you disable and enable again - ThreatFire or Firefox? ThreatFire could not be disabled, only suspended but that is not of help for me.

Simply, after install ThreatFire 4.6.0.4 beta I can not run Firefox 3.5 anymore. When I uninstall ThreatFire, Firefox works fine again.

    Zimzi,

I just suspended (right-click tray icon) threatfire, check task manager for Firefox running process, I had tried several times to start FF and had several instances running, kill-all FF and try with TF suspended.

Yes, there's some bug's, would be helpfull to report at the pctools forum.

On Vista, IE 8 seems fine but both Firefox 3.52 and Chromium would at times freeze or not startup. So I uninstalled TF. But it is a beta.

Overall, looks more promising with the "deny" option and CPU time usage seems greatly improved.

Deny option? Where? All I see is Allow, Kill and Kill & Quarantine.

Kill is the deny option. In the past TF only had quarantine.

Yes I did also. Uninstalled reinstalled threatfire 4.6.0.4 several times with the same result. FF would show in task manager in Processess but not in Applications running. I installed threatfire 4.5.0.24 and firefox works ok with that version. I seen your post in the PC Tools forum and see that you didn't get much feedback.

Is that security check part of Threatfire or can it be downloaded separately?

It's indeed a part of TF - it's mostly to market their paid product(s) whenever it "can" (that's, if it doesn't detect any other AS and/or AV software installed already); Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus.

It does. It detected comodo Av and Defence plus. I suspect actually it just takes info from windows security centre itself.

Might have been an incompatibility with Sandboxie or something else but I noticed quite a significant reduction in responsiveness with this beta installed.

Everything opens up quicker without it. I'd say it may have added 1-2 seconds to most things I would run. My OS drive is an SSD as well so it was pretty noticeable.

As one who is eternally bellyached over the demise of CyberHawk then lamenting the slow destruction of ThreatFire, i can't believe my eyes now in the latest version with the "KILL THIS PROGRESS" feature added as well as the CUSTOM RULES, ACTUALLY WORK NOW!!!!

I in all honesty am oh so thankful ThreatFires guys shookup their labs and personnel and finally dived headlong into this Behavioral Blocker to now bring it into some diginity again and respect which reflects back to all those fans who patiently waited what seemed like many seasons to see their "wish list" finally implimented into TF (Beta).

Bottom line, yes beta for now, but a very MAGNIFICIENT BETA!! for this very enemic market of Behavioral Blockers that can give Mamutu a run for their money.

    Anyone else?

now all Threatfire needs is to fix the plague of bugs this software has consistently had with other programs...
