Hi EASTER. Did you install .NET Framework v2? If after installing .NET, there's still an error when opening Hazard Shield, I suggest you e-mail the developer (andy@orbitech.org).

Hazard Shield sounds like a one man project.

There is no way one person can mantain a signature based security scanner in the long term.

Easter, that error means that you need .NET installed.

Absolutely love the name, in fact any security app which is authentically legit that uses the name Shield for it's product, i would expect it live up to that terminology. After all, it's a SHIELD we all expect against forced intrusions of a trespassing nature on our good machines.

"shield" implies that you have something to defend against. with sandboxie, h.i.p.s., fdisr and a clean bare metal image and mwbaw on demand, you just dont need a shield, no attackers ever made it to your stronghold due to the various sorts of "moats" :D

And SandboxIE etc. are the "SHIELDS" which contain executables etc. within it's bull pen. LoL

On download from Orbitech site (version 1.9), AntiVir pop's up and says shield.exe is trojan TR/Killwin.ON

The download from PCWorld (version 1.6.03) is clean according to AntiVir.

Could be FP but I'll give this one a miss.

    Hi hammerman,

this is certainly FP ( False Positive ) of AntiVir ...
Temporary issue : download old version of Hazard Shield, and click on Update / Check for Updates boutons.

Hazard Shield trying to execute three scripts (.vbs) during installation. Is it normal? I think I have never seen something like that during software installation?

Took a peek at the website. Found the links to the left interesting. Javacool, Avast, Malwarebytes, to name a few. Are they real associations, or perhaps put there to give a false sense of security. I did d\l it from both links. Avast Web Shield gave the exe a pass but I think I will as well. :D
