So, you're on W10 and run in shadow okay...? or did you mean if I upgrade to W10.

Any W10 users want to share their W10/WindowsUpdate#4643 + SD experience. Thanks!

Yep, similar happened to me a few times (and reported) with Firefox bookmarks with Exclusion places.sqlite (.608, .612).
Has not happened to me since I employ CommitNow vs Exclusion (.617, .623, .629, .636).
Read from beginning of Thread, you'll find messages regarding Exclusion corruption.
TTF, I never observed corruption with Exclusions. So, I tried Exclusion List with SD.
Since .617, I'll only employ CommitNow.

Virtualised system works in the same way as normal/real so each action done "from" such system over the non-virtualised drive...no matter is it local or external...is normal also...all data can be saved/edited/removed/etc as usual...but they hasn't influens for real system.
SD don't prevent against data-leaking and you should always remember it.

Did the MSE corruption ever get fixed? It always shows up in my Event Viewer after every Shadow Mode use. Fix the error, enter Shadow Mode, error comes back until fixed again.

    Hi Overkill,
I've emailed Tony about your UAC alert problem and will post here if/when I receive a reply.

I know SD supports W10 as per SD.
Windows Insider tells me <<Just a quick note; using anything like "Shadow Defender" without the OS updates in any version of Windows concerning remote execution, means that you will not have control over the commits performed while in "Shadow Mode.">>

What happens in shadow when W10 (Home) asks for restart to configure/install Win-updates.
Will W10 (Home) know next time I'm not in shadow and then download/install Win-updates (anyway).
What happens if user boots into shadow.

I've never though about Win-updates pre-W10 since user has control pre-W10.

Good question. One of the (many) reasons I am still using W7.

Configure Windows Update to notify the need for a reboot and schedule it.

If you are in shadow mode an W10 notifies the need for a reboot, reboot and don´t boot in shadow mode. Then go to Windows Update and do a "manual" update. Search for updates. Wait until WU notifies the need of a reboot and schedules it, then click on "reboot now". After the update process finishes, enter shadow mode.

Yes, I'm aware re 'Schedule'.... didn't know first hand whether 'Schedule' satisfies W10 + SD.
So, Win-updates in shadow as any changes in shadow go by by okay on restart.
So, Reboot Now (not in shadow) will satisfy Schedule. Thanks!

I change GPE windows update from Automatic to Notify.
Now when I'm in shadow Windows notify for new update, exit from shadow restart and update

Thanks, I've amended #4662 with (Home). So, with W10 Pro change GPE WinUpdate from Automatic to Notify and with W10 Home schedule WinUpdate restarts.

Exactly Flawless as ever here too running Windows 8.1 (64bit) and will never install 10 Period!

Why? Because Shadow Defender and all other Windows security systems are functioning like a well oiled machine.

Awesome too is how nothing breaks Win 8 really. The supporting security apparatus like SD is like a stealth/silent shield almost in and of itself.

Tony sure knew how to put this one together.

Easter, I loved Win 8 but MS decided to cut support for it. Win 8.1 is also good, very similar to Win 8. I've just upgraded to Win 10 and the very fact I don't have many regrets about Win 8.1, is a good omen about Win 10 although it is still a young OS. There is however one common denominator with these three OS's, namely Shadow Defender works flawlessly in all of them, kudos to Tony!

I would assume there is but I want to ask just in case.

Is there any conflict between Shadow Defender and real-time defragmenting software like Diskeeper, PerfectDisk and Auslogics Defrag Pro?

In real system they shouldn't have some conflict with SD and on virtualised system?...perhaps the same...BTW -I don't see any reason to defragment virtualised disk.

I use Shadow Defender and Perfect Disk. Even ran PD once while shadowed. No conflict, just a waste of time. This is on Win 7 x64 Pro
