Hi Cuirse, please give me the 64-bit version. I'm really tired of updates.
    Thank you very much!

    Hello Wilder friends,

    1) Does anyone know if SD is supposed to survive "Sleep" and / or "Hibernate" ~ W8.1 OEM.
I cannot wake from Sleep or Hibernate. Have to force shutdown.

    2) Anyway to remove or move the Shadow Mode indicator. It blocks tabs.

Versions 1.4.0.518 [april 2014]; 1.4.0.558 [october 2014]; 1.4.0.566 [november 2014] don't appear in the version history on the SD website.
(may apply to some v 3 as well..)

Am I reading too much into this...or...
Conspiracy Theory 1: Takes up too much web space, so some versions are randomly not mentioned? or
Conspiracy Theory 2: Some versions are more kosher than others - that is, some are best forgotten and not mentioned?
    Conspiracy Theory 3: < insert here>
    :doubt:

disclaimer- not intended to be a serious post.

    Can't answer 1.

    2. You can move it by putting you mouse on it and slide it or remove it by opening the SD GUI, go to administration, and uncheck the windows tip box.

No conspiracy. I am using 566, which is one of them, and it runs fine.

Shadow Mode "survives" both Sleep and Hibernate in my case, Windows 8.1 Update, all recent SD versions.

Oh! is that what Window Tip is....
SD survives Sleep and Hibernate on my Vista box. But, sadly TTF does not survive on my W8.1 OEM. Trying to avoid buying another SD License for W8.1 box so tried TTF. Have to admit to myself....TTF is not SD. :(
EDIT: SD does not wake from Shadow Mode sleep either on my W8.1 OEM box ?

Thanks so much. Guess, I'll have to move license or buy another. Thanks ! Wish SD offered multi-device.

So far, so good. Then again, I haven't experienced any issues with any version since build 325 - but I did 'get on Tony' in support of Wendi's request for Track0 & MBR virtualization. ;)

Any one have an idea what may be wrong with my W8.1 OEM box. Shadow Mode will not wake from Sleep. Have to power down from Sleep. Had the same problem with TTF and no support from TTF. So, installed SD and found same with SD. So, something in my setup o_O

HP says Fast Startup is a hybrid of cold shutdown and hibernate. HP says Fast Startup has nothing to do with Sleep or Hibernate. I have a Vista box that wakes from Shadow Mode session saved....no issue.

I have W8 Fast Startup disabled. First thing I did on new box.

If I catch ransomware in Shadow Mode and all my files are encrypted. Will a restart bring back files as normal ? I have documents excluded. Thinking I should just use Commit instead of exclusion. Be a bugger if I have folder exclusion and catch ransomware.

My Win8 machine has no problems recovering from 'sleep' and 'hibernation' states in shadow mode, as long as fast start up is disabled... If your machine still doesn't recover, then there must be another reason...

Shadow Defender shouldn't be affected by ramsomware theoretically, but I personally would never exclude anything from shadow mode, committing is safer IMO albeit you must remember to do so. I would also suggest to have a thoroughly working backup/imaging system as a last resort.

Yeah, I've contacted SD support and taken your advice. Removed folder exclusions in favor of commit on the fly. Yes, I Image before M$ Tuesday. Tried to do Windows updates in Shadow Mode but, system froze. Then asked here and was advised not to do WU's as updates won't survive restart. To the contrary SD support advises I'm okay to do Windows updates Shadow Mode. Anyway, I have to figure out what's up with wake from Sleep. Thanks for your time and interest and advice. I'll remember to update, if I get sorted. Cheers

This seems to me to be an impossibility. You have no way of knowing where MS is sending the thousands of lines of computer code all over your system.

I guess what I was trying to do is fully update WU's in Shadow Mode to see results of problematic updates in shadow. Then return to normal and install in real environment if no problems. I guess I need a real VM partition for that. Maybe, SD support presumed WU's would not need a restart.

While I have your ear. Why would I "Encrypt write cache". Is the write cache what I commit. My write cache is always 0. What does do not re-curse into sub folders mean ?

Still trying to wake Shadow Mode from Sleep with space bar tap. Had to force shut down again. So, it's not a one off. I've disabled Sleep for now.
