22.5.0.120 is/was/will be pushed to v22.x users in a phased manner. So, not just for the beta. Norton Product Update 22.5 for Windows 10 Compatibility I'm reading now. Some affected users run CP uninstall. Pull pre-activated v22 install from their Norton account. Install ...n' update and seems okay.
<<Hi everyone, Permalink In light of the issues reported, we have removed the patch to resolve these outstanding issues. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for notifying us of these issues. Norton Forums Administrator>> Read reinstall helped but, also read reinstall just back in the same issue. * For now 22.5 has been suspended *
I am very sorry everyone. I beta tested early versions including build 120 and did not experience these issues. I also updated my production machines to 22.5 before the announcement was posted and the only issue I had was I had to re-activate NSwB on one machine. I may not of posted the link to the announcement if I knew so many would have serious issues. As most know, the 22.5 update has been pulled from the servers now. For those that don't know, I am not a Symantec employee, just a user like you. Cheers!
I don't think it's been developed in America for some time. But neither is anything else I have bought in the last few years. But most of those are not even American companies. Interestingly the issues I was having with my Logitech keyboard stopped after uninstalling Norton today. I'll be leaving it off for a while.

Their KB's never mention uninstalling from Windows Control Panel first either. I think that if you run NRT without uninstalling and saving settings your local vault will get trashed. NRnR keeps the local vault (if you're still lucky enough to have one) though.
@bjm_ , That does not appear to be the case - at least not when I just tried it. To my great surprise I just ran NRT on one machine without uninstalling NSwB first and when I reinstalled my local vault was still intact.
When I got home last night I had the issue on my home machine, ugh. My PC is old so it was not digging whatever was included in this update. I hope to get a new machine soon but we shall see. Finally was able to get my machine sorted but for now, have switched to another av product. Will be keeping an eye on this thread. Thanks to all the members here for keeping us all informed.
Hi Trooper, Was an easy fix. Once Norton acknowledged and advised 22.5 was available via Norton account. 22.5 product is not flawed. What was flawed was the update process from 22.2 to 22.5 22.5 install / product pulled from your Norton account is okay. 22.5 running okay on my boxes. Cheers
Gotcha. I did not read up on everything and just got rid of it altogether. I may come back but for now am sitting tight with a different AV. Thanks!
I am still sitting on nothing since removing it to get out of the reboot loop. I understand it was the update process and not the update itself, but I am liking the way my machine is running without it. I will likely continue with another product until the Windows 10 release. From there I will probably give a few products some testing time to see what runs best on 10.
Same here. Sitting with another product until Windows 10 is officially released. Will see what is up then.

I hope this build is safe to use at this point. The other product I am using released a patch that breaks Outlook for me (won't check for mail) so I guess I'll be giving this a shot. --Had some trouble with the license. A reboot seemed to fix it but should not have been necessary. We'll see how it goes otherwise.
Well I can call this update a dud, at least on my laptop. It sometimes but not always makes it take several extra minutes to boot. Everything is noticeably slower to open, especially browsers. Uninstalled and all problems cleared up. Windows 8.1 x64. I will probably uninstall all security software for my Windows 10 upgrade, make an image, and then dare to test any of this stuff again.
small comment..confused by reference to 22.5.0.124 as beta##and Norton Product Update 22.5.2.15 for Windows 10 Compatibility I received both by Traditional LiveUpdate Channel.
