    I use Mailwasher free, and also FrontGate. I am surprised that no one mentioned FrontGate. FG is free.

    Looks to be in beta. That said, there are lot of excellent spam filters out there that can yield 99% accuracy rates out there. mostly due to bayeisan filtering.

    You use any other plugins with spampal, or just the open relay black lists? I'm curious what accuracy do you get just with black lists.

    [I use K9 when things are normal. When things get nasty, I use Mailwasher Pro.]

    Would you explain why? I am using Frontgate, and did use Mailwasher free, but MW did not permit but one account. I deleted it.
    Frontgate doesn’t seem to have a very good memory.

    I notice that K9 and Popfile seem to be well thought of, and am looking for something to choose between them or to find another filter. I am not very sharp, and it needs to have a simple learning curve for me.

    Anyone else is welcome to help here.

    i chose "nothing - i don't bother"...not because i like spam that i don't bother...i just don't get any... o_O

    my hotmail's settings are on the highest level and my ISP filters out alot, and i don't subscribe to anything, or no one likes me... :doubt: :D

    I am running trend micro internet security and the spam module is catching spam. I check the log and it listing spam it has filtered so I guess it is working pretty well. I have not had this security suite very long but so far so good :)

    Shame on me for my very very very late answer, please forgive me....

    A couple of months I was not "on air" for many personal reasons, had no time at all to be at the Wilders Family, was here every week only for a few seconds and that was all!

    Till last week I was using SpamPal with just the open relay black lists, the accuracy was o.k. to me, but since last week I don´t use/need SpamPal anymore.

    The reason: I have now Outlook 2003 with integrated spam-handling, and I must say: it works great!

    Perfect spam-handling, and that for a product coming from our friend Uncle Bill.....

    Mail Box Dispatcher. What I like about it is that, before downloading mail it checks and brings back a list of what is waiting for me. I can then have it delete - at the server - anything that isn't on my spam list already and that I don't want getting into my computer. There are other far more sophisticated programs but I find this one fast, easy on resources, and adequate to my modest needs.

    Mail Box Dispatcher allows you control incoming email messages on server side, before downloading them to your email program. It acts as a simple, hands-on spam filter and allows you to specify criteria (from, subject, text etc.) to select unwanted messages and then delete them. The program can also download a specified number of lines, allowing you to quickly preview part or all of the message. The optional auto-selection feature lets you pre-mark certain messages for deletion, so all you have to do is click a button to remove them from the server. None of your email is deleted automatically, so it is safe to use without risking to lose an important message.
