In 2008, was there a type of security application that saved you from UNEXPECTED infection (meaning executing malware without you knowing/ suspecting about it. So testing malware or running a "crack" or something that most probably is a malware doesn't count)? I think it will be nice to see how many where saved by each type and also how many didn't risk infection at all, but have a vast arsenal anyway (Aka "Wilder's paranoia"). You can vote for more than 1 choice too.
I've been saved twice this year by my little yellow buddy SandboxIE. Say what we will about SRP/LUA/HIPS, but when you can surf as nuts as you please without turning your system into Fort Knox, it's all the better.
Ive been saved once by my current antivirus from a non rogue security program that caused lockups and initial panic therefore ive awarded it with a 1 year licencing "donation" although i switch for fun's sake all the time
Interesting poll but I would have liked to have seen a choice along the lines of: My security software didn't save me (i.e., I got infected).
