The button that directs us to all our programs, such as accessories and all the Microsoft Office applications has been removed thanks to the 40+ viruses and worms plagueing me.

Any way to get it back?

    Download SAS pro trial.
Clean your PC and use the repair functions. That might help.

    Hello,
unfortnatly some spyware does disable lots of stuff.
have a look at kellys corner.
to restore control panel scroll down the page at the link above and find 256 and click on restore control panel, download the file and excute it. you will then have the control panel working again. on the page linked above you should be able to download files to remove the other restictions.

you could also download superantispyware, go to options and go to the repairs tab and find the problem and click repair. some need a reboot to take effect.

of course you can get your computer reformated. its only windows that is infected.
try not to be angry when you take it to the computer shop after all they will be helping you. a tip thou ask for pricing from a few different places to find the best deal. there should be at least a few computer shops in your area.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Under each, see both "explorer" and "system"

Here you will see some added policies made by malware,I can not recall all good legit that reside there but the ones relating to the control panel and several others are very obvious and easily removed.

If you fear the registry, simply use the free version of erunt and become familiar with backing up your registry.

This stuff is very obvious to spot in those registry values.

Also..google ComboFix,its a nice free tool for cleaning up malware.

Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator.

That's what it says each time I try to click something on the link provided by kelly. That's how bad the situation is :'(

If only I can find out who this "administrator" is... *shakes fist*

Of course I brought myself into this situation so I'm the fool, naturally

    Have you scanned with SUPERAntiSpyware?

Also, search for xpsecconsole. This little app can restore blocked functions.

I want to access the Run command

I think I might be able to get the task manager and control panel back, but the thing is, I dont have the Run command either.

Anybody know how I can access it? I tried 'exploring' Start but I couldnt find it

Thanks guys so very much. I dont know who helped me, but I thank the one that finally got the Registry thing out of the way so now I can finally use kelly which has proved to be very helpful (I can access the Task Manger, for one thing)

I've also found a temporary way to access the Run command. But what do I do next?

I seem to have the control panel, but I'm nowhere closer to all My Programs Button (and we're still not in the all clear, for the viruses are still here)

now my question is, I've found the Registry Editor, but I dont know where to go from there. The instructions for HKEY Current and whatever have lost me halfway through. I'm now in the box that has all the NoFind, NoRun, NoStartMenu, and all that. how do I restore them?

and I STILL cant seem to delete this annoying SpyGuarder...
