    The jack is not the shortcoming of the system. Far more important is the quality of the speakers in the headphones and if listening to music, the quality of that but most devices such as phones are generally filled with MP3s or some other lossy format that is far more harmful to the sound quality than the jack. But you won't buy new headphones if the jack fits...

    Yeah ... Fender Stratocaster, Marshal combo, a curly lead with a quarter inch jack ... that's rock'n'roll! ;)
