    Standard? I don't think so. Desired? Absolutely! They typically are optional purchases.

    Yep, even my high end Areca card did not come with one, its an add on.

    In a comment to an article about the new Vertex 5, I read that the Intel 320 and the new m500 from Crucial are the only consumer SSD's with power-safe capacitors, to prevent the SSD's from 'dying' after unexpected power loss.
