KL has always had great self-defence.
I'd say it's alright, although less resource friendly than other AVs.
F-Secure hasn't used Kaspersky for years. AFAIK 2009 was the last version which did.

I expected most products to have a much weaker SD on x64, but good to see that assumption was wrong.

(Quote from the test report): As seen in Figure 2, almost all leaders are equally well-implemented self-defense as Windows 7 x86, and under x64. However, despite the newer versions of antivirus programs that participated in this test, most of them lost more balls.

If you lose your balls, that's NOT self-defense !

dr web is a nice program but i remember it being trashed when it comes to self defense by ep_xoff with his spidie..

    http://www.rootkit.com/blog.php?newsid=1035

which leaves some doubts regarding this whole test

You should check the OS used... Probably POC does not apply to x64 environment or win 7 LUA. Many POC from ep_xoff works only on XP admin.

Dr.Web resolved in adding SpiDie PoC to virus database  (which would be made useless with an update)

instead of working on their self protection.

From what i have read, they used default installation settings. I wonder if Avira would score better if Secure start has been chosen instead of default Normal (if those option are available on x64 of course).
