Task scheduler

Im running XP SP1 and am having problems with tasks scheduled in the Windows task scheduler not running.
I have programs which DO automatically run (daily virus scans, spyware scans etc) but they are not running through the windows scheduler.
The scheduler service is running and does let me schedule tasks but they just wont run.

Any ideas?

 

Make sure Task Sheduler is set to AUTO in Services.

It is set to auto and it is started and running, otherwise it would not let me even enter scheduled events.
The probelm is not the the scheduler wont start, its that the scheduled events wont start. They will sometimes if I right click on them and select run but it seems to be hit and miss.

 

Try to schedule windows Disk Defragmenter using Scheduled Tasks. Reboot and verify that it is working okay.
