    Hi there all

I use Fix -it utilities to clean the registry out, but am looking for another one. I also often find, as others do that you have to go in and manually hack out all kinds of useless stuff that still gets left behind. ANd I'm not even a boff, if I were, you can be sure that even more would get hacked out of the registry that already does get removed

Sorry I didn't see this earlier John.
Total Uninstall has been working quite well for me. I don't think it clears out every last drop, but it seems to do better than most. I haven't had it cause one bit of trouble, yet.
    Knock on wood. :D

    Hi root,

At the chance of completely going offtopic ;)
I´ve had a few problems using TU in monitoring programs that require a reboot to complete the installation. Do you know of a way to get around those?

    Regards,

    Pieter

When an installer reboots, TU makes a reg entry to restart after the reboot and the window should come up on the desktop, waiting to be completed. After you finish the logging process, it deletes the reg entry. I see this happening with RegRun 3 as it asks if these actions are ok.
I have never had problems with the process.
Do you have some kind of registry protection that might be interfering with this action?
If this doesn't help, PM me with the symptoms of your problem and maybe I can help.

    Thnx root,

I have several programs warning me of startup changes, none that block without asking.
I will try to reinstall TU and see if that helps. Can´t find anything about it in the options or help file.
At least now I know it should be able to perform in this manner.

    Regards,

    Pieter

The best product for finding and removing those left behind registry
    entries is

    Registry Crawler

    Trust me

It isn't free but has a trial peiod. Give it a try. I have mentioned it many times here before but none seem to take it seriously.
I never even get replys o_O
