  1. Anyone run into this bad boy yet?

You kill the process and it fires right back up.

We use NTFS at work so what we had to do is remove all permissions from the file and reboot the computer.

We then were able to delete the file.

Anyone have any other suggestions about this nasty booger?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Actually, there is a massive amount of information on this just searching with Google on "Sysupd.exe", including many people's different ideas about how to remove it.

Yea, there is a lot of info, but almost all of the suggestions don't work.

  4. As a matter of fact, the only one that I found did work was what Spaghetti man posted! Thanks :)

Does anyone know what the best metho is to get rid of this annoyance? I didn't even know I had it on my machine until Norton found it. It couldn't get of it though, and neither could I. Does anyone know if the safe mode method works? It's the only one I was thinking of trying so far. Also, does anyone know if sysupd.exe is really malicious? Is it going to do anything if I'm not on dial-upo_O Please reply soon...I need help :/

    Thanks,
    Jacob
