I was checking my system restore but before it would load up onto the screen worm guard blocked it from running. why is this?and is this ok. the mul
Hi the mul, Yes, I think that is normal. WormGuard recognizes it as something that can make major changes to your registry and warns you about that. Regards, Pieter
I don't know about the okay - when Wormguard blocked System Restore from running for me, it was because it was infected. - after having gotten rid of the virus, my SR has not been blocked from running. Hmmmm?? Any answers to that one Pieter?
P4U, people running XP or winME are always advised after cleaning out an infection to disable system restore when they are all clean -- reboot -- enable system restore again -- make manually a new system restore point, which should be clean then -- reboot and test it. If you went through those steps WG shouldn't block a clean restore else then warning for the changes the restore is likely to make to your system like said above. What surprises me, btw: WG is for WORMS and scripts, but it does block viruses activities too. Isn't that great?
Thanks for all your help. I have followed your advise about SR and have now set a earlier restore date and now have no problem with wg 3. I will in the future follow your advise on this jooske ;when or if i get a virus. Just to let u know nav and nod give my system as well as tds the all clear. thanks the mul
Hey Jooske - I did all that with guidance from Wilders [last year] when I had the Sobig infection ... since then everything is simply peaches & cream. I think it was Mul that is having the problem which appears to be cured.
Congratulations! WG did it all together with you guys! If your computer has hands it would applaud for you and sing a happy song!
