system/files checker novice

    hi
    i'm looking for a software that monitors the changes of my files, of my hds
    i used adinfo , could file checker do for me?
    can i monitors hds and not only directory?

    i would like to know if I can setup file checker to controll not only single file , but for example directory , or a whole hd (with every files inside)
