Trialing this at work. Lighter than McAfee VS8.0i and comparative detection on tests I've run. This is a far better product than NAV 2005 and as light as a feather.

    Hello,

I'm just curious . . . "far better product than NAV 2005" because of which features (which pertain to standalones, not to networks)?

    Thanks for your considered response.

    PS: I use NAV 2005

I have used this at Work in the past and as you say it runs a lot lighter than the Home Version.

Must be good if it is on par with the McAfee product.

    Hi jmschwartz

By beter I mean nice and light it's as smooth as AVG or Avast (at least on my machine). I'm not saying that the detection is any better than 2005 but it certainly seems to find a lot of stuff (trojans, hack tools etc).

They seem to be getting their act together.

The Symantec use less recourses than Norton, have a better configuration, but I don't know if they have exactly the same detection...

I would be really interested to see some test results for detection for this AV as i used to use symentec V8 and at the time liked it, then when i went to my current university they give out mcafee enterprise 8 and swiched which i am glad i did as i think MVE8 totally wipes the floor with symentec, so i am curious to see how they both compare in a test.

I'm using McAfee VS8.0i, runs like a dream and picks up practically everything. Plus, it has daily updates.
