    Hi Guys

Is it possible to have a desktop icon that would switch default printers?

I have a Canon i960 & Epson R260, pressing the proposed desktop icon would make one or the other default ready for use. Thus eliminating the need to switch at control panel.

    Take Care
    Rico

You can create shortcuts for your printers in QuickLaunch on the taskbar. Then you can just right-click on the printer and select "Set as default". Unfortunately the little tick mark that shows which printer is default does not change in Quicklaunch. Also you can open Control Panel and switch to classic view, drag the folder "printers and faxes" to Quicklaunch. One click will open the folder and you can change the default printer.

Here is a freeware utility that sits in the system tray and quickly allows you to change the default printer.
