SWB shortcut problem in Win7

I got a new Dell XPS 8500 with Windows 7 yesterday. When SWB was installed it looked fine for awhile (less than an hour). Then the shortcut icon(s) changed to what Windows displays when a shortcut isn't associated with a program: blue stripe at top and 2-3 tiny splotches below.

This morning, I deleted SWB from my Downloads folder, uninstalled, rebooted, and downloaded/installed a fresh copy. Same thing happened. On the "plus" side, that error icon opens SWB as if normal. But it shouldn't look like that.

Would be grateful for advice on making it right.
