Anyone have any experience with Swat it Trojan and Bot Remover. I found a copy of the installation on a disk and tried it out, however there does not seem to be a version number visable and it doesn't seem to run very efficiently.

Hi, I use to run Swat it, however, there are never any updates and there are only a few trojan signatures in the programme.

Believe me if he wanted to hack your system he could no matter what you did

So moral of story is they can't be stopped. Not the true professionals.

So Where Does That Leave Us?

I am just an average home user and was wondering if Swatit was worth installing.

Currently I use Prevx but saw a recommendation for Swatit on my Enlglish forum, Webuser.

Having read this thread, I am no wiser as to how good Swatit really is.

    Some expert advice please?

I'd recommend you stick with Prevx, take a pass on Swatit, and if you need/want trojan coverage, check out one of the big 5 (TDS3, BOClean, TrojanHunter, Ewido, or a²). For free options, the last two listed are the ones to try.

    OMG,

Back in heydays ('99-00), I was really contemplating on getting Hacker Eliminator for US$99 with a lifetime upgrade guarantee thrown in too! After all, it was used in Fortune Five Hundred (or something like that, in its marketing tag line)

After reading through this and other forums and having bought and installed various firewalls and AT software, boy was I almost suckered then. Guess a sucker is (almost) born every minute.

Actually, I really liked the process explorer portion of Hacker Elimator. You can get this for free at sysinternals.

    Really Jaytee

If you liked the process explorer, I am sure you like the process guard
    as well?
Nother nice feature is the CRC check of files you have selected.

But oh well Like I said. Now days LockDown has subscriptions like everyone else.
Not free program and sig updates for as long as you live.

I installed it once, but as soon as the user interface popped up I decided to uninstall. Must be one of the ugliest gui's ever.

This is the first time I am trying it and it's GUI looks alot like all other software now days. My first thought was Spybot.

I really don't know if it monitors all the stuff PG does, like global hooks.
It does monitor the Reg and processes for changes ect.
I will have top check into it more before my trila expires.
