I've been intreged by Jetico's BCWipe for a while now, in particular its ability to encrypt the swap file. But something strange happens every time I restart my system it turn off. With BCWipe uninstalled, and the swap not encrypted, my system restarts as it is supposed to. Any ideas why this happens? I wonder if there is some setting I can change on my system that will allow me to still use BCWipe.

I think I did. Why? Would it be better to have that enabled or disabled?

i don't know. just a suggestion. thought maybe chance of it affecting it. it maybe a bug with BCWipe. have you tried a previous version of it? is your Windows working 100%? has it encrypted on your system successfully before? have you tried disabling any startup programs that might be conflicting? is there plenty of space on the drive? have you run ChkDsk? Defrag. try setting page(swap) to a fixed size. try some things.

    Registry Key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Path: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    Key: ClearPageFileAtShutdown
    Type: REG_SZ
    Value: 1
