    Hi there,
Lately, I used the Backup & Recovery 2014 free edition backing up a 37.2 GB SUSE Linux to a VMDK as raw data and SATA . However, after mounting to a VMware workstation, I got the error:

    Grub loading stage 1.5.

    Grub loading, please wait...
    Error 17

I used an opensuse live CD booting up the vmware, and found the hard drive partitions to be as follow:

    /dev/sda1 18458685 78156224 29848770 f W95 Ext'd (LBA)
    /dev/sda2 * 63 6152894 3076416 83 Linux
    /dev/sda3 6152895 12305789 3076447+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda4 12305790 18458684 3076447+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda5 18458748 24611579 3076416 83 Linux
    /dev/sda6 24611643 27696059 1542208+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda7 27696123 28740284 522081 83 Linux
    /dev/sda8 28740348 78156224 24707938+ 83 Linux

    clearly, the first partition should be: /dev/sda1 * 63 6152894 3076416 83 Linux
I used the command "sudo usr/sbin/fdisk /dev/sda " correcting the partition orders, then I got a new partition table as follow:

    /dev/sda1 * 63 6152894 3076416 83 Linux
    /dev/sda2 6152895 12305789 3076447+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda3 12305790 18458684 3076447+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda4 18458685 78156224 29848770 f W95 Ext'd (LBA)
    /dev/sda5 18458748 24611579 3076416 83 Linux
    /dev/sda6 24611643 27696059 1542208+ 83 Linux
    /dev/sda7 27696123 28740284 522081 83 Linux
    /dev/sda8 28740348 78156224 24707938+ 83 Linux

and then there is no error any more.
