This does not mean you have to rush out and buy Windows 7 or even Vista.

Support for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010. You will need to install Service Pack 3 (SP3) by then to continue receiving updates.

Support for Windows Vista without any service packs ended on April 13, 2010. You will need to install Service Pack 2 (SP2) to continue receiving updates.

If you're running one of these versions after support ends, you won't get security updates for Windows.

How to see what version you are running

The reason this is important: Windows security updates are just as important as having a good Antivirus. Viruses and spyware attack vulnerabilities in the Operating System. These security updates are released to fix these vulnerabilities.

    Run your Windows Updates regularly.

Good reminder ! But the end of it kinda smells like an ad (especially the link to the "good" Antivirus).
