I use SAS along with MBAM and Hitman Pro. Each one finds things the other does not. They are the three best malware scanners out there. I really don't understand why some are making such a deal about SAS. I thank the developers for giving us a free version of a scanner that offers the protection that SAS does. It is one thing not to like a product but some of the accusations in this thread have me shaking my head. Even a double face palm is not enough.

I've always liked the SAS 'System and Browser Repair'.
    It has been extremely helpful.

-At Wilders Security, SAS is not as popular as it used to be:
I see people using more MBAM, HMP, and EAM.

-At most Malware Removal Fora, they use MBAM.

I hope v5 to help SAS gain back what it lost...

It is an excellent program. For less than $20, I bought a lifetime license. Can't beat that, especially the yearly renewal charges.

I wish people would keep the the original subject.
I am looking forward to the new changes in version 5. the only reason I only use the current version on demand is that the updates use quite alot of resources so U hope that is sorted in V5.

Hi Nick, for some, there is a 'vested interest' or a genuine interest in helping SAS become a better product. Good luck with 5.

Are you referring to definition updates or program updates? Which resources?

I never have understood the "bashing" in regards to security products that are legitimate - meaning - the fact that people "pick sides" is silly in the fact that each product/vendor is working hard to PROTECT the users (all users) so it would seem that the users would want each product to continue to improve - for example, in the USA we have the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force all protecting our country - none of them are "better" as they are all doing their job in their respective areas - it's really the same with anti-malware/spyware - each vendor accels in a place another may not, so using them together is the real solution.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE to use ONLY ONE product and be able to fix every machine every time - so people should be supportive of vendors that offer software for free - you never know when your "best" product isn't going to work and you are going to need the help of another product!

The CPU should only be used for a few seconds while the definitions are processed - what are you seeing on your end, and what are the system specs?

I don't think anyone has criticized SAS based on its removal ability. Actually I've not heard anything significantly negative about SAS in that regard. The real time protection doesn't seem to excel in tests but being a supplemental antimalware program, maybe real time protection is not super important. I think the ones who criticize SAS are either turned off by the marketing ("$9.99 today only" or whatever it is now) or associate the sister product SuperAdBlocker with SAS. I think it's been a year now since an upgraded SAB product was last promised and it's been several years since any significant upgraded release. People who have been promised these updates can sometimes take out their frustration on the developer, despite the product.

Hats off to Nick. Honestly, he has stuck behind this product and continued to make it better. He never gave up and has been very cooperative in feedback from Wilders. You deserve only the best Nick and this looks great.:thumb:

MRG has an SAS removal video on their home page.

Looking forward to the new version. Portable SAS is the only anti-malware application that seems to run on my work comp. ;)

I have to take my hat off to Nick, I have used this program for several years now and have never had any problems at all, not even any system slow downs which some of you have noticed. When friends have had problems this is one of the ones I recommend, and i have never had any complaints off anyone YET! :D
    Windows 7, 32 bit and 4GB RAM.

Well no excuse now. SAS needs your support, so stick around. :p

If the above mentioned reminder is implemented I would hope that it can be disabled if the user desires. I certainly have no need for it and would find it quite annoying.

I am looking forward to the right click scan of files without SAS already running though.

Any feature such as that would be configurable by the user.

Yes, I agree. The balloon or pop-up could even display a message like "You haven't run a scan for a week, and we recommend you do it so. If you prefer not to see any further reminders, then press here."

Something like that would be OK, IMO.
