Suggestions for a light AV

    True. I have my favorites too, Dr Web and VBA32. But only the doc has made it on my primary machine.

    In answer to the question, there are quite a few light AVs. Trial them and see what best suits you. Then get Avira.;)

    Ignore Trjam's first suggestion and just go get Avira.

    As a free av I would also suggest Avira if you can handle the popup. But for paid I would suggest NAV2007. I got this recently for $20.00 and runs VERY light. Also trialing NIS2007 on another system and after beta testing KAV 7 I notice no difference except maybe NIS runs a little lighter. This is on a Vista machine. :)

    If you cannot stand Avira's ad you can always disable it

    Well, she settled on NOD32 as it stayed the @#$% out of her way.
    Of course, she made me config it (thanks Blackspear for the guide ;) ). While they are all good AVs, I can't say I blame her for her choice. She saw how everything was working and what all it covered and was pretty happy with the feeling of coverage she got.
