I do not know if the problem is caused by NOD32 but it does remind me of an old problem back in 2008 (fixed on May 21, 2008 - 3.0.657, problem causing system instability on Microsoft Windows Server platform)

my ProLiant DL160 G5 running Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 hanged with no obvious errors. the only error - eventID 1060 (see attachment) doesn't help me.
while hanging ping is the only service working but nothing else does. can't access disks, keyboard is frozen and RPC connection cannot be established.

I'm shooting in the dark because I am in the dark and since it did happen once, it might be a repeat. anyone with similar issues and\or ideas?

    Hello ogsi,

Try installing the latest build 4.0.467 which has been made more compatible for servers. Also, what exclusions do you have set in the software?

I'll upgrade after hours though I checked the change log and didn't see any related changes.
there are no exclusions on this server

    thanks a million

I wonder, would these work on a config template or should I go manually server by server?
on the one hand there are 2003 & 2003 R2 around my network and the KBs instruct on possible difference
on the other hand it is crazy going one by one

using a template config I see 2 optional problems:
missing exclusion - when a path exist on the local server but not on the config
wrong exclusion - when a path on the config does not exist on the server
what are the implications of the 2nd option?

In this case, nothing will happen. The exclusion will be there, but the path isn't, so the software just ignores it.
