Go to "start" - "control panel" - "add/remove programs" - look for AOL - select it - finally remove program.

After removal reboot and do rescan of your ports.

    succes,

    regards,
    Martin

    ritaann,

You don't use AOL as your ISP, do you?
If you do, be careful what you uninstall.
I am not sure if you can just uninstall the instant messaging part of AOL. :doubt:
If you aren't using AOL as your ISP, then get rid of it.

When you use a fully integrated IP with browser and IM you are in the same boat as trying to delete IE from windows. Your stuck. :(

Just to let u know I had the same problem with port 443, I did a shields up test and all ports were stealth except port 443 which was closed.
I then used port explorer and traced it to aoltpspd.exe using port 443.
I am running outpost pro 2.1 and in outpost i created a rule to block inbound traffic only to port 443 and I tested the new set up at shields up and now all ports are stealth.
As for [AOL TOP SPEED] it works fine with the inbound traffic blocked only in outpost and all is great once again.

In the advanced rules you would create a rule to block inbound traffic to port 443.

    Action: Deny
    Protocol: TCP
    Direction: Inbound
    Local port/service: 443
    Remote port/service: Any
    Remote IP/Address: Any
    - enable logging if it is an option.

You could also check your application rules for aoltpspd.exe, if it is there, make sure the default allow to act as a server is disabled and see if that resolves the port 443 issue. (just be aware this may or may not affect AOL functionality)

    Regards,

    CrazyM
