I had a look at the tracking cookies I recently removed with a full SAS scan & decided to do a bit of research. I found this page about the BurstBeacon tracking cookie. This caught my eye, so to speak, as I have heard that there is malware with this name. I Googled this site ~ SpywareRemove.com (with Opera/JS off) & then opened the page in Firefox to check Site Advisor. Although it was green some of the comments left on the SA page seemed to be suggesting that this is a bit of a rogue site.

Has anyone any knowledge of this site &/or the BurstBeacon tracking cookie or malware?

No specific knowledge, but WOT gives a warning when you go to the link.

According to Ben Edelman, SpywareRemove is associated with C-Netmedia (unrelated to CNet), and I found on Quarkbase that it involves people once
connected to Spy Hunter, which was declared fraud by Ikarus in 2007, there is
info on this also at Edelman's website.
