SpywareGuard

Have just installed SG, everything works fine except the desktop shortcut. Right-clicking on the SG icon does the job. A minor annoyance I know, but I'd like to get it fixed.

 

Just to be sure....is the SG icon in your systray after you start your PC ?

If so....that part of SpywareGuard is working....and that is also the only way to open the SpywareGuard GUI. The Spywareguard Desktop shortcut is placed there in case you choose to close down Spywareguard and then decide to start it's process back up again(SG icon in systray).

HI. My SG has somehow been corrupted. It shows on startup programs, and add/remove, but is not in sys tray, and will not open from any link. I tried to uninstall, but it tells me that it is running and I must shut it off from the icon i tray (that is not there) The update link does work. HELP!

 

Have you tried safe mode?

 

Try terminating these 2 processes in task manager then attempt uninstall,

SGBHP.EXE

SGMAIN.EXE.

U could also try reinstalling over top and see if that produces the system tray icon.

Very happy with SpyWareGuard now & have also installed CCleaner...fast & effective. Having got my Presario laptop running really sweetly, I'm abandoning it for a far-away island in the sun. Be back on the boards mid-September.
