Began browsing these forums for past six weeks now and am impressed by the amount of great info, great support and great members!!
I am not very computer literate, and I have several questions to ask.(One at a time, though).
First of all, my PC is WinXP SP1.(All patches up-to-date + NAV def.)
Downloaded SpywareBlaster 3 weeks: and SpywareGuard a week later.
    Q. When performing a Defrag. on my hard drive, is it necessary to close down (exit) Spywareguard prior to defragging? Also SpywareBlaster?
The reason I ask is that 2 days ago when I defragged in the usual manner, e.g.: disconnected cable modem->disk cleanup and disabled ICF.
I rebooted and when I logged on, I had no internet. (I finally got it back about an hour).
Thank for any help you can give.

    Hi ImWho,

    Welcome at Wilders. :)

SpywareBlaster does not have to be running to protect you. You only need to run it about once a week to check for updates.

SpywareGuard will slow defragging down when it is running, as will any program that is running.
Because of that, the fastest way to defrag is in safe mode.

    HTH,

    Pieter
