Spywareblaster, buttons is "dead"

Hi

After installing Spywareblaster on a fresh installed Win XP, nothing happens when I push the buttons in the program.
I have noticed the problem several times on different machines, sometimes it works instantly, other times I get this problem, even though the software on the machines is the same and all newest drivers and updates is installed.
I've tried to install the recommended files, that maybe is needed or missing from the system, but with no luck.
Anyone have a solution for this?
