    ok with clamAV install

    no process same two

but spyware terminator realtime memory use is 4.804

really over all the memory usage is really good.

still around 10mb of ram usage even with ClamAV running.

the HIPs is really quite, but if something changes you will get an alert. also if you install or have system wide changes like updates etc. you can rebuild the HIPs database which in the settings tab under realtime.

The protection against direct disk access seems to be a complete fake.
I have seen this with a previous version and it's the same with the current one.

Whenever I test KillDisk or KillMBR malware, ST comes up with a prompt about target DR0.

    ST_DDA.png

And after I hit Deny ST is bypassed and the malware writes directly to disk. :ouch:

Does anyone know about other fake protection features?

    Cheers

Full scan is very fast, however I have only 21gigs data on my 250 gig drive. (8mins)

For some reason,I have more processes than others have noted.
This on Windows Xp pro Sp3:
    1.sp_rsser,exe 6536k
    2.SpywareTerminatorShield.exe 8196k
    2.SpywareTerminatorUpdate.exe 12,868k

EDit,Ok enough for me.With the real time protection, and the HIPS running my Sandboxed Firefox was taking 30-35 seconds to open.
Normally it is under 15 seconds.
There may be a way to tweak this,as SpywareTerminator seems pretty configurable,or it could just be my Ram challenged machine.
But this will not be the ProcessGuard alternative I seek.

    @Subset, and Ratwing,

why you dont quick post a thread on their support forums? the admins there will take it and help out and see what the deal is so it can get fixed.

it would only better the product.

I confirmed similar behavior with some examples: the alert comes out but if I deny it the the malware/undesirable action is done... Developers'useful feedback about lacking indeed.

There are a conflit with Sandboxie - see here (Tzuk found the reason; but ST'developers can't solve it). With me the newest version the delayed to open my Maxthon browser (sandboxed) is 50 sec. about...; it seems Spyware Terminator'developer can't figure out the annoyance. Posted yet in their forum without any real interest to solve it.

If you use version 2.3 no annoyances comes out at all.
