Hi, i was wondering since i only use spyweeper on demand can i use the secret menu in spysweeper to disable the spysweeper self protection then put the spysweeper service to manual?
and when I lanch spy sweeper will it start the service and open as normal?
because its annoying the spysweeper always starting at boottime when i hardly ever use it.
also if anyone knows if this works can they tell me what buttons i need to press and where to clikc for the secret menu because i forgot.

    Hi lodore,

To see the secret menu, move the mouse over the Yellow Radar, then press Ctrl and Alt together, hold, and double-click the yellow radar.

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=872555&postcount=90

Then press the button "Turn SPS off". SPS stands for Self Protection Shield.

Then go to the Start Menu, Computer Management, Services, and change the startup mode of Webroot Spy Sweeper Engine service to manual.

The next time BEFORE you want to start Spy Sweeper, go to Services, change the start the Webroot Spy Sweeper Engine to startup mode to "automatic", then start the service manually. If you don't start the Webroot Spy Sweeper Engine service BEFORE you start the Spy Sweeper GUI, you will get an error message and the Webroot Spy Sweeper Engine service will not start by itself.

    thanks Chubb
i think its stupid that the service doesnt start itself.
i thought that was the idea of manual was it started itself when needed.
e.g. fast user switching service starts when you want to fast switch.

also is there a spysweeper 5.2 removal tool?
    like there was for 5.0
so after i uninstall soon when it runs out it uninstalls all the spy sweeper drivers

Hm...I am not aware of a removal tool for 5.2. I have read somewhere that other people are also looking for it. Maybe you need to ask technical support for that.

they where really annoyed and was the first time they where denied the removal tool for any product.

The last link I posted didn't seem to come out right when I checked it so maybe this one will work better.
Apologies to anyone who clicked on the other one.
