Spyshelter Firewall v2.9 and Windows 8.1

On my Windows 8.1 machine I have Spyshelter Firewall v2.8 installed. This morning, I got notification there is a new version. I downloaded the new v2.9 but it gives me error on install saying, "Sorry, your operating system is not supported yet." See the screenshot.

BTW, in a virtual machine I installed it in Windows 8 without any problems.

The download section of there website doesn't show a 8.1 compatibility, just the 8 version.

So maybe, you have installed the 2.8 version on W8, and after get the 8.1 via Windows Update.

You are absolutely correct. After what you posted above, I put the installer in Windows 8 compatibility mode and it installed perfectly, without a hitch.

According to SpyShelter's Facebook fanpage, they have released a fix.
However, there is no update note when checking for updates - guess that's because it is the same version as 8.9.

Download new version manually and it works perfectly.
