Still has the Immunize feature. Only other product with this that I know of is SpywareBlaster, but it has less coverage (especially for non-IE browsers).

Agree. With Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. Who needs Spybot? I remember when Spybot and Adaware were my choice tools. I cant even remember the last time I even gave either one a second thought.

Don't they cancel each other out at some parts due to overlapping?

I think the only feature that could be considered an overlap (if they added the same entries) would be the domain and cookies blocking, I believe.

They provide an overall different passive proactive protection, hence not overlapping.

All we can do is wait and see what comes out of this more than welcome new version. It was long due. If it's something that comes to help fight the bad guys, in an effective way, then why not? ;)

I think I will give S&D another try now. I always liked it in the past, and it's always been free. How can anyone complain?

Immunize is nothing but a gimmick these days. You already have browsers blacklisting malicious websites. Block 3rd party cookies and add an ad blocker and you achieve the same effect.

Though I don't mean to downplay SD v2, I'll judge that when it's ready.

A quote from that blog page mentioned in control's post:

I'll give Spybot S&D 2.0 beta a test run on one of my computers shortly.

Well it's official. Does anyone have more info on On-access and Antivirus protection?
