According to THIS website, DefenseWall (DW) will sell for $17.97 (40% off of regular price of $29.95). The sale price will be available on October 24, 2008. You can *sign up* to be notified on that date.

NOTE: The sale page has a block for entering comments. Thus, if you have positive (or negative) facts to post about DW, this gives you an opportunity to do so.

P.S. The site's javascript (for handling posted comments) was verrrry slow. After waiting a couple of minutes, I thought it was hung. So I hit the "Post" button a second time. You guessed it -- when the dadgummed script finally finished executing, it double-posted my comments. Sheesh! So I guess I like DW twice as much as I thought I did. :)

If more users used programs like DefenseWall, there wouldn't be so many 'which is best' or 'how do i fix my pc' questions. ;)

Great price for such a solid program. :D

Yes -- they are very trustworthy. I have dealt with them successfully. The software that they sell at discounts are by arrangements with the producers of that software.

Unfortunetly for some like me, it's no use getting a license at that bargain :'(

Ilya, when do you expect to have a 64 bit version, could it by any chance come out this year?

Last i heard he had no current plans to create a 64 bit version, too much work and not enough market i believe.

Definitely, not this year. First, I still didn't have my application project migrated from the freelancer who makes new skin engine migration. But the next step, as I promised, will be the outbound connections protection, which will takes some time. And only then I can start to make some moves into the x64 area.

for example in comodo firewall there is a sort of rules you could apply within internet explorer to fully block any extentions files downloads

Still don't understand. DefenseWall already blocks any browser extension updates if untrusted.

    Jmonge,

DW will not block downloads of executables. Simply because they are paralised when they have untrusted status. It also won't block execution of downloaded programs for the same reason. DW is a policy restriction HIPS, not a classical anti executable and not a virtulaisation sandbox.

Unfortunately, I still have no idea how to make outbound protection absolutely popup free, but I know how to significantly reduce its number.
