    Hello,

When I am pointing the arrow from the mouse on "Check with MBAM*" for checking a file, I find in the left part of the screen (downside) a short message in chinese.

    What is about ?

Is it a simple so called bug ?

    Thank you for your opinion.

PS : I have the french version so I don't know which is the real expression used by MBAM in the english version.

I haven't seen that. I'll have to try it when I get home.

The problem with that kind of joke is that some people will actually take it seriously.

Suddenly people are spreading it around, saying that it must be true because they saw it online. It can damage reputations. Anyway, someone reported it to us and we decided to remove it rather than explain it was a joke and have to post a disclaimer in the thread about it.

So, let's let this go and stick with the threads topic.

puma one, I too have the same chinese characters (english version). The question was asked at the malawarebytes forums in October, and, in the end, no answer was given. I would assume it's just a bug, but I wonder why more people haven't reported it?

    Regards,

o_O Have not seen it on the free vers. on my PC.

Just what is done to produce it? Just trying to make sure I am doing the same steps in an attempt to reproduce it.

I will make the assumption that MBAM was downloaded from the original authors website.

ThunderZ, right click on any file in explorer and hover over "Scan
    with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware".

Thanks Scotcov. That is what I had tried. Just tried it again. No Chinese characters, or any other oddities.

Wonder if it has to do with additional installed language packs either in Windows or MBAM itself?

Yup, I'm getting something like that too. But instead of Chinese characters, I'm getting what looks like open bracket/close brackets like this:
    [][][][][][][][][][][][]

Edit: I checked it using MBAM 1.33, XP Pro SP3, UK English

Problem is that your reply was the only one and new users ehre might not understand the joke. Imagine their frustration if they take it as true.

Jokes are good that make all of us happy, not only few people. :)

Since the original poster has an answer to the problem, and it is a bug, there is no reason for this thread to continue.
