    After doing taxes I removed all Turbo Tax/Intuit files and then went into the registry to do the same. While there I saw a file called Ax Tracker which I had not seen before...maybe it was always there but...
    anyway, does it belong there? I researched the best I could and I only could find that it was a GPS program. Would that be for Wireless? I don't know...the word tracker I guess. Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Brandialexander,

    Can you post the full path tot the key and the values?
    Usually the location tells us something about the function.

    Hi Pieter and thanks..

    Under HKEY_Class_Root - down past file extensions quite a bit….

    Files directly above are:

    AVIFile
    awApi5.AnswerWorks
    and 3 associated files

    then the “AxTrack” files begin as follows:

    AxMetaStreamMetaStreamer Ctl Default Reg_SZ MetaSteamControl Class
    CLSID {03F998B2-0E00-11D3-A498-00104B6EB52E}
    CurVer AxMetaStream MetaStreamerCtl.1

    This continues through again, only

    AxMetaStreamMetaStreamerCtl.1
    CLSID Same as above
    Insertable SZ

    Same stuff only
    AxMetaStream.MetaStreamCtlSecondary {1B00725B-C455-4DE6-BFB6-AD540AD427CD}
    CLSID
    Insertable
    AxMetaStream.MetaStreamCtlSecondary .1 SZ {similar to above, varied}

    AxTrack SZ AxTrack Moniker
    CLSID SZ {5145942E-41DF-4658-B7C4-089F48E84A75}
    AxTrack.CoAxTrack SZ CoAxTrack Class
    CLSID SZ {B9F3009B-976B-41C4-A992-229DCCF3367C)
    CurVer SZ AxTrack.CoAxTrack.1
    AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk SZ CoAxTrackMk Class
    CLSID {…..like above, varied}
    AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk.1 SZ AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk.1
    CLSID SZ {like above, varied}

    then files continue

    AZRoles.AzAuthorizationStore
    quite a few same association (AZRoles)
    etc...................

    I believe the files directly above AxTrack are related but not sure.
    What research I can find seems to indicate that it is an AOL Emergency Utility Finder, but I also see that the technology is GPS -o_O??
    http://www.usa-gps.com/axtrack.htm

    Like, do they have GPS running on thiso_O?

    Any suggestions whether I need to keep or can I recycle it....thanks so much.

    TurboTax bundles a secondarily installed program, AnswerWorks, that can be removed via Add/Remove Programs. Quicken might include it now, too.

    In fact, if you do not need nor want the help functions that AnswerWorks provides, you can uninstall it without breaking TurboTax; I did.

    Also check if you find something listed as Viewpoint.
    It could be ViewPoint Manager or ViewPoint MediaPlayer, ViewPoint Toolbar etc.
    That can be uninstalled as well.

    Thank you gentlemen for your help...I did have both those mentioned and removed! Appreciate that advice. I would still like to know about the

    AxTrack Moniker thing. AOL Emergency Utility Finder....

    CLSID SZ {5145942E-41DF-4658-B7C4-089F48E84A75}
    AxTrack.CoAxTrack SZ CoAxTrack Class
    CLSID SZ {B9F3009B-976B-41C4-A992-229DCCF3367C)
    CurVer SZ AxTrack.CoAxTrack.1
    AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk SZ CoAxTrackMk Class
    CLSID {…..like above, varied}
    AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk.1 SZ AxTrack.CoAxTrackMk.1

    All I could find out with a reasonable amount of certainty is that the Publisher is AOL.
    Can you post all the CLSIDs?
    They are important leads.

    For example {B9F3009B-976B-41C4-A992-229DCCF3367C} brought me here:
