    please guys, can you help me out with these two questions:

    Question 1
    For the address 172.17.7.245/28, what is the host part?
    A: .5
    B: .245
    c: .240
    d: 7.245


    Question 2
    What is the best summary route for the network range listed below:-

    172.16.168.0/24 through 172.16.175.0/24 inclusive

    A: 172.16.0.0/16
    B: 172.16.176.0/28
    C: 172.16.167.0/23
    D: 172.16.168.0/21

    what do you mean?

    to answer your question, it's not cisco, they wont ask you a question like the first one

    Meaning - if someone so desired they'd have sent you a private message. With plenty of good, easy to understand resources available; tcp/ip guide, ciscopress and ip calculator, you shouldn't have much trouble. 'Course if you'd rather not "earn" your credentials, max2k offers an easy solution to that second bit there.

    the correct answers to both questions are "d".
    However, I won't explain why, you would need to understand the logic behind that yourself, especially for the queston no.2. GF's links are quite OK, and I can also provide some more if you're interested.
