I am trying to install the softmaker office trial and I am getting this:
The installation of a package which violates the quality standards isn't allowed. This could cause serious problems on your computer. Please contact the person or organisation who provided this package file and include the details beneath.
Details:The package doesn't provide a valid Installed-Size control field. See Debian Policy 5.6.20.

So I am afraid to install it.Anyone using it?

First thing I would do is check the md5 sum of the package you downloaded against the one on the webpage. It's possible the file was corrupted during download.

If you don't know how to do that, in Debian you just cd to the directory containing the download and then run
    Code:
    cd Downloads/
    md5sum -c name.of.the.deb
