This has no doubt already been covered a zillion times, but I'm too old and lazy to hunt for it.

Is there any way to make the smilies "menu" active when editing a post? Sometimes when adding a P.S.-type afterthought I'd like to also add a smilie, either in the P.S. or possibly in the original part, but there doesn't seem to be any point-and-click way of doing that here.

Presumably using the correct alpha coding would work, but keeping track of those, especially for some of the more unusual ones (like * puppy *), is too much like work.

    Thanks and best.

You are correct that when you select a post to edit many of the options are not available but just below that new Edit text box is a selection labeled Go Advanced....select that and the remaining options including "Smilies" are then available.

Aha! Thanks, Bubba, that's what I get for not playing with all the buttons.

(Is that anything like going around without all my marbles? ;) )
