    Before installing TI9 & Disk Director Suite 10 my computer had a fast bootup. Now it takes 5 minutes for programs to be available after bootup. Also, all programs themselves are now slow to open. Is this to be expected after installing these Acronis products? Anyone else had this problem?

    I can’t speak for Disk Director (I don't use it), but that was NOT the case for True Image 9.

    Hello hac32,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software and Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    First of all, please make sure that you use the latest builds of Acronis True Image 9.0 and Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 (2337 and 2089 accordingly) which are available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    You can find the full version name and build number by going to Help -> About... menu in the main program window.

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please uninstall any previously installed Acronis True Image 9.0 build by following Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Acronis True Image, prior to installing build 2337.

    If the problem still persists with the latest builds of Acronis True Image 9.0 and Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 then please check each partition of your hard drive by Windows utility:

    - For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run then enter the command "scandskw" and test all drives;

    - For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drive.

    Note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    Please also download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists then please uninstall both Acronis True Image 9.0 and Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 and see the result.

    If your computer still performs slowly then the problem is not related to Acronis software. Otherwise (uninstalling Acronis products solves the problem), please do the following:

    - Install the latest builds of Acronis True Image 9.0 and Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 once more;

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Describe changes that appear after installing Acronis software in more detail;

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
