Yes, it isn't an antivirus, but just a website rating program.

Yes but it doesn't have any real time malware protection so it shouldn't conflict.

Although I use both SiteAdvisor and Norton SafeWeb I much prefer Safeweb since it appears to have more ratings for malicious sites than SiteAdvisor. Invariably SA will come up blank. But you need NIS/NAV 2009 to run Norton SafeWeb.

So just be aware of SiteAdvisor when it shows a grey Icon against a particular URL.

Go to the community buzz page on Norton's safeweb site http://safeweb.norton.com/buzz. Pick the top 3 most recently reported sites.
profilms-onlineDOTinfo - SiteAdvisor does not have this in their database
windows2000webhdDOTwi.funpic.de - SiteAdvisor does not have this in their database
troyuncuDOTnet - SiteAdvisor reports this as safe!!

All these three sites are malicious sites.

Not sure what you mean by "these ratings may be OK". These are confirmed malicious sites that infected your PC. I tested them. Why does SiteAdvisor have nothing on them or the ratings are GREEN.

I noticed that there are some sites where finjan gives me green but siteadvisor gives me red :cautious:

Finjan uses Proactive detection, so it detects only exploits, it does not uses a website blacklist like SA.
