    Hello:
i hope this question doesn't tax anyone's patience too much, but i'm curious: why do people in germany, china, etc. want to monitor my computer? is it just marketing research to study surfing habits? or can it be more malicious in nature? i believe it can be either, i'm just curious what the non-malicious motivation is. thanks in advance for any input...ns51

H northstar51, Steve Gibson of GRC would probably call it "Internet backround radiation" These scans are probably from compromised servers looking to infect othe insecure servers or script kiddies playing with their scanning tools :)
