You may obtain the latest release of Microsoft Silverlight via Windows Update, The Silverlight link or via a stand-alone installer Please note the last link is a direct download.

The same Silverlight 4 I keep telling Windows Update to ignore, but it manages to find its way back into the list and pester me.

If you don't have it installed it's only in the optional section. If you do, it will be classified as important. In the case you're unaware if you have it installed.

I would defer to what elapsed said, though you could download and install it then disable the add-on, not that I am encouraging this, it is an option for those that don't want to play games with Windows Updates options.
