I currently have all servers doing a scheduled scan daily.

    Is this overkill?

I just changed our workstations from a daily scheduled scan to a weekly scheduled scan. Should I do the same for the servers?

    Thanks

There is no should nor must . It depends on you but I would recommend week . Remember that you have real-time protection + NOD32 scans all PC's memory after every restart :D

Of course, if your servers have a long period of inactive time (e.g., overnight), then I see no harm in doing something useful during that time, such as checking for viruses. On the other hand, if your servers are in constant use, and the virus checking causes performance problems, you may choose to scale them back.

It really depends on your individual situation.

IMO yes. Surely adds substantial mileage to your hard drives.

Once you scan your server, you have real time protection on the server, and real time protection on the other end too..the workstations...so that's twice your files will get checked before being deposited by workstations.

    Thanks for all the replies,

When doing a scheduled scan of a server, do you choose to scan all files, or only scan default extensions?

Again , it depends on your needs and what you want .

In my opinion , when scanning it is best to be set on maximum so that the scan will guarantee clean machine , safe work and peaceful mind :D

Blackspear's extra settings for settings on max

Remember that when NOD32 is used on server it is strongly recommended that you keep IMON disabled !
