Self Deleting SMS?

Would there be a way to send someone a SMS text that would self delete after one read?

Some people I tested this on are getting the messages fine, but a few have reported the message was already destroyed before they read it. Makes me wonder, could these people have a backdoor that is copying the message before they read it?

 

they might have some sort of odd setup that previews the message wich counts as a read and hence selfdestructs the message not neccesarily a backdoor per se or simple user error as so often these kinds of cases are, try again
