Security must have

Do u think its fair to have ur system slow and bloated.

Its horrible that now adays we need a firewall software, Antivirus, Antispyware, Antitrojan, Spyware preventer like (spywareblaster) etc...

A couple of years ago u only need A antivirus and a firewall with windows updates. But then came the spyware and all the malicious things.

wat i am trying to say is that u have to spend a bit of money for good protection.

wat are the security things u need like an antivirus, firewall, antispyware, antitrojan, spyware blocker,

wat else

 

another operating system is the best you can do at the moment

 

When longhorn come out in 2006 hopefully it would be much better in stabilty and way better in security.

Hopefully it will be harder for spyware, viruses, trojans, worms etc.. developers to get to ur computer.

but i would like to know the key security features u need. no names. just like an antivirus, firewall etc...

so many ppl spend so much money i hate it

 

for free you could have a serious protection artilerie on your system if you want, just browse the forum, you'll find all you need

Must be some kind of bot, spamming forums when it detects a couple of keywords. Not very useful answer IMHO though.

Actually it's worse. What you need is

Antiworm (Eg Wormguard)
Anti virus (Eg KAV)
Anti trojan (Eg Boclean)
Anti adware (Eg Ad aware )
Anti spyware (Eg Spybot , MSAS)
Anti Keylogger( Eg Spycop)
Anti rootkit (Eg Sysinternal rootkit detector)
Anti process/memory injector (Eg SSM)
Anti Process killer (Eg Processguard)
Anti network intrustion (firewall)

AND

Anti superhacker (Reformat and reinstall with backups!!!).

This covers only the basics of course. Ideally you would need a complete sandbox (registry,files,processes) as well, tools to monitor file intergrity .
